Product Options

Biodermis Epi-Derm™ Standard Silicone  Sheet

Ideally dimensioned for managing mid-sized hypertrophic and keloid scars.
1 Silicone  Sheet - EDGTNT-146 (12 x 14.5 cm / 4.7 x 5.7 in)

Biodermis Epi-derm™ is a soft silicone gel sheet which is tacky on the back and easy to apply. Biodermis Epi-derm™ silicone sheets are the most effective, proven method of scar treatment available today. All Epi-Derm™ silicone sheets can be trimmed to size.

Product Benefits: Biodermis Scar Silicone Sheets helps reduce the scar size, thickness, and appearance of all types of scars, post-surgery scars, keloids, including new and old scars, and other scars caused by injury and burns. Silicone sheets soften and smooth the scar with the surrounding skin, these silicone sheets helps make the scar far less noticeable. Additionally, these silicone sheets may be used to help in the prevention of hypertrophic and keloid scarring when used on closed scars following surgery or burns. Silicone sheets can be used for breast augmentation, liposuction (for larger scars), arm procedures (brachioplasty), thigh lift (thighplasty), body lift, buttock lift, neck lift and cosmetic surgery procedures. Silicone sheets and can be easily cut to fit size of scar.

How Does Epiderm Work? Scars need a "healing environment,” meaning the appropriate balance of moisture and exposure to oxygen. Biodermis Epi-derm™ is a fully-encapsulating silicone sheet —the sheet completely covers the scar treatment site for uniform scar treatment of the entire area. Although the entire areais covered, Biodermis Epi–derm™ is semi-permeable, allowing oxygen to enter while keeping moisture out — the ideal environments for healing scar tissue.

Once Biodermis silicone gel sheets have been applied to the scar area, it can be used for 1-2 weeks. When it begins to lose its adhesive qualities, or when surface dirt becomes difficult to remove with proper daily washing, it is time to replace the Epiderm silicone sheet.

Unused product, whether opened, or unopened, can last for years when stored properly.

Silicone sheets are an effective solution for both new and old scars. Clinical studies have shown that the newer the scar, the better the result. One such study found a success rate of up to 85% on scars under 1 year old, and the rate of about 65% for scars over 10 years old. The optimal period of use of silicone sheets is typically a minimum of 12 hours per day (and ideally 24 hours per day) for 8-12 weeks

Pro-Sil is frequently used during the day on exposed scars (facial, hands, elbows, etc.). For 24 hour a day usage, many patients prefer Epi-Derm gel sheets at night when they are at home or sleeping, because a single sheet will last all night
